RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA MODIFYING THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 27.19(d) OF
THE CHULA VISTA CITY CODE WITH RESPECT TO THE MAXIMUM
PERCENTAGE OF DRIVEWAY FRONTAGE AND WAIVING SAID RE-
QUIREMENTS WITH RESPECT TO THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT
649 GRETCHEN ROAD
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby re-
solve as follows:
WHEREAS, Section 27.20 of the Chula Vista City Code au-
thorizes the City Council to modify the limitations contained in Section
27.19 (d) o£ said Code, and
WHEREAS, Mr. William Holloway has heretofore requested a
waiver of the requirements of Section 27.19 (d) of the Chula Vista City
Code to allow him to construct an additional sixteen (16) foot drive-
way on the property located at 649 Gretchen Road to obtain access to
his rear yard, and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has considered said request and
recommends to the City Council the waiver of the requirements of said
section based upon the fact that the additional driveway will not ad-
versely affect traffic or visibility and will, in fact, provide addi-
tional off-street parking for this property, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista finds
that strict compliance with the limitations imposed by Section 27.19(d)
would create particular difficulties and prove an unnecessary hardship
for the property owner, and the waiver of said requirements and the
increase of driveway frontage to S5~ of the total lot frontage will
not be detrimental to the surrounding area under the conditions as im-
posed by the City Engineer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Chula Vista that the maximum limitation of driveway frontage
as set forth in Section 27.19(d) of the Chula Vista City Code be, and
the same is hereby waived insofar as the property located at 649
Gretchen Road is concerned, and that the driveway frontage maximum
limitation for said property is hereby increased to 55~ of the total
lot frontage.
