Gentlemen:
We are pleased to submit a proposal for an audit of the records of
your City for the fiscal year ended June 30, 1871.
Our audit will be made on a selective test basis in accordance with
professionally recognized and nationally accepted principles of mu-
nicipal auditing standards. We will be available for consultation
on accounting and fiscal problems during the audit and coming months
of the fiscal year 1870-71.
Our fee will be based on the customary per diem rates and barring
the discovery of fraud, will not exceed $3,500 for the period which
will include tests of the golf course, restaurant and bar accounts.
This fee contemplates more or less monthly visits to keep us abreast
of current developments in the City. If current visits are not de-
sired, please so indicate and reduce our fee $300.
In the event of the discovery of irregularities, we would report
immediately to the City Council and make arrangements for any ad-
ditional detailed checking which might be indicated in the circum-
stances.
We will make unannounced cash counts and observe interim audit pro-
cedures during the year, and consequently request permission to
submit progress billings.
Very truly yours,
Partn
