ITEM TITLE: Resolution - Accepting Bids and Awarding Contract for the
Installation of 56 Pedestrian Signal Indications -
Gas Tax Project No. 167

The Director of Public Works received formal bids at 11:00 A.M. on
September 17, 1973 in the Council Chambers for the aforementioned project.
Two bids were submitted. The list of bidders and their accompanying
bid amounts are listed below. The low bid of $25,530, submitted by Arrow
Electric is 10.4 percent below the engineer's estimate of $28,500.
Arrow Electric (Lemon Grove) - $25,530.00
Perry Electric (San Diego) - $25,600.00
This contract includes furnishing and installing 56 pedestrian indications
at the following intersections.
1. "F" St. & 4th Ave.
2. Broadway and "G" St.
3. "E" St. & 5th Ave.
4. "L" St. & 4th Ave.

Authorization is requested for the expenditure of $28,500 (low bid price
plus 10~ contingencies}.

been appropriated for the purpose of_ said contract, that
sufficient monies to meet the obligations of the contract
are actually in the Treasury, or are anticipated to come
into the Treasury to the credit of the appropriation from
which the same are to be drawn, and that said monies now
actually in the Treasury, together with the monies antic-
