[ 8 ] CHULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF: September 18, 1973 ITEM TIT LE: Resolution - Granting Extension of Time for Installation of Public Improvements in Second Avenue South of Palomar Street INITIATED BY: Director of Public Works/City Engineer C BACKGROUND At the public hearing upon Phase 14 of the 1911 Block Act Program eld on March 21, 1972, Mr. Charles Rice, speaking for Saburo Muraoka, owner of property on the east side of Second Avenue, south of Palomar Street requested a 90-day extension of time in which to install required street improvements. The request was made so as to permit time for preparation of plans for the on-site development of the property and to assure the proper placement of driveways to serve such development. Required improvements include curb and gutter, sidewalk, and pavement along a Second Avenue frontage of approximately 620 lineal feet. On May 16, 1972, by Resolution 6437, the Council approved a six-month extension of time and accepted a lien against the property as a guarantee of performance. The subject property is difficult to develop because of its configuration and the drainage channel which traverses the site. On November 7, 1972, by Resolution 6652, the Council approved an additional) twelve month extension of time (until October 13, 1973). On August 28, 1973, the owner again submitted a written request for an additional six (6) month extension of time (until April 12, 1974). The request for extension specifies that the applicant will develop the property himself. The installation of these street improvements should be carefully coordinated with the on-site development of the property. ATTACHED: Resolution ~ ] Financial Statement: N.A.
