CHULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF: August 21, 1973
ITEM TITLE: Resolution - Accepting Bid and Awarding Contract for
Masonry Wall Construction; PR-1-72 Golf Course Rest
Rooms
INITIATED BY: Director of Parks and Recreation
BACKGROUND
The Parks and Recreation Department, in cooperation with the Building
and Housing Department, is constructing rest rooms at the Chula Vista
Municipal Golf Course. These rest rooms were being totally constructed
by use of City forces labor.
A review by the Building and Housing Department revealed that it would
be more economical to have the block wall contracted to a private con-
cern, since our field force is not skilled in masonry wall construction,
By informal bid process, the Building and Housing Department received
four bids:
1. Mr. Paul C. Nielsen $2507
2. Mr. Paul Lozano $2,530
3, Mr, Thompson $2,800
4. Castorena's Masonry $3209
The low bid of $2,50? was recommended by the Building and Housing
Department.
