D.%Si'RIC~l' itU~,TLtLt~::~ I'IzOi~1 4 '10 The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby res.olvc~ as follows WHEREAS; the City Council of the City of Chula Vista has Long supported the concept of placing all of the South Bay areas in a single Supervi.scriai District, and WHF,ZI:T~S, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista has careft~l.iy weighed th.e several plans proposed by t_he Board of Supervisors of Sa.r: Diego Counter, and WIIERF.AS, it has been determined by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista that that certain plan designated as Plan 7 would best achieve an arpropriate and rational inclusion of the South Pay areas tivithin the same Supervi.sorial District, Gnd WHEREAS, the on]_y opposition to said plan by the Council would be tl~~e failure to r~~ta.i_n Supervisor Henry Boney as the represc-ntati.ve of said di>>t.rict, and WHEREAS, it. is ttTerefore desirable to renumber the districts f.r.on? District 4 to District ?_, and WIiEREAS , if the district numbers are not changed as reconu,iended herein, the citi?ens of the City of Chula Vista will not be al:iot~rod t.o cast their votes for a district representative for a period of six years since the proposed represcnta.tive, Supervisor Bear, has been most recently elected and not by the citizens of Chula Vista. NOW, TIIEF.~FORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of. the City of Chula Vista does hereby urge the Board of Supervisors to adopt. that plan designated as Plan 7 for the redistricting of the Supervisorial. Districts of San Diego County. BE 1T FUF<TIIER RESOLVED that said plan is considered acceptable only if the number i.s cI-~angd from District 4 to District 2 to retain Supervisor Henry Boney as a representative of said district, BE IT FURTHL~'R F~ESOL~'ED that: the Citx Clerk of the City of Chula Vista be, and she is hereby authorizF:d and directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to al7_ of the cities in San Diego County, and that all of said ci.t.ies are hereby urged to support the City of Chula Vista in the redistricting program outlined hereinabove.
