HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1971-6279RESOLUTION N0. 6279 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ENDORSING THE PROPOSED COUNTY ORDINANCE ELIMINATING OUTDOOR ADVERTISING DISPLAYS AS A PERMITTED USE The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the City of Chula Vista has heretofore enacted ordinances eliminating billboards or outdoor advertising displays as permitted uses in any zone in the City of Chula Vista, and WHEREAS, the County of San Diego is presently considering a similar prohibition for the unincorporated areas of San Diego County, and WHEREAS, such an ordinance would be consistent with the best interests of the total San Diego County metropolitan area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby endorse and support the adoption of an ordinance by the County of San Diego which would prohibit billboards or outdoor advertising displays as a land use in the County of San Diego. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Chula Vista be, and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors.
