HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1971-6224• ~- , RESOLUTION N0. 6224 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF THE STAR NEWS PUBLISHING COMPANY FOR THE HANDLING OF ADVERTISING FOR THE CHULA VISTA INTRA-CITY BUS LINE The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the Star News Publishing Company has submitted a letter of proposal dated September 14, 1971 for the handling of pro- motional advertising for the Chula Vista Intra-City Bus Line, and proposal. WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore approved said NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista that said proposal and the concepts for promotional ad- vertising submitted at the City Council meeting of September 14, 1971 be, and the same are hereby approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said proposal marked as Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as if set forth in full be, and the same shall hereafter be the basis for the conduct of promotional advertising for the Chula Vista Intra-City Bus Line by the Star News Publishing Company. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $2,800.00, plus tax, be, and the same is hereby authorized to be expended from the Bus Operations Account and shall be paid to the Chula Vista Star News from time to time as the advertising program is carried out. Supporting information: (Use other side if necessary) At the Council meeting of 9-14-71, City Manager Thomson reported on the discussions held with the Star-News regarding advertising for Aztec Bus Lines. He submitted an agreement from the Star-News whereby they would provide for 1,000 inches of space for a period ending June, 1972, for $2,800. It was moved by Councilman Hyde, seconded by Councilman Scott and unani- mously carried that a resolution be prepared approving the concept of the sketch submitted by the City Manager which would provide for an advertising contract with the Star-News for the period indicated (June, 1972) for the sum of $2,800, plus tax.
