RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA ENDORSING THE SAN DIEGO AREA WIDE PLANNING
COUNCIL LEGISLATION AS PROPOSED BY THE LEGISLATION
SUBCOMMITTEE OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING ORGANI-
ZATION OF SAN DIEGO COUNTY
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Planning Organization's special
ad hoc committee assigned to develop area wide planning legislation
has heretofore met on March 3, 1972 and prepared general guidelines
to be used as a basis for proposed legislation for the San Diego
Area Wide Planning Council, and
WHEREAS, the committee report has heretofore been forwarded
to Assemblyman Wadie Deddeh requesting that legislation be drawn up
in accordance with the guidelines contained therein, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista has
reviewed said report under cover letter dated March 23, 1972, a copy
of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as
if set forth in full, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista con-
curs with the legislation guidelines established by said report.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Chula Vista does hereby endorse the report of the Legislation
Subcommittee of the Comprehensive Planning Organization of San Diego
County and urges that legislation be developed in accordance with the
guidelines set forth therein.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby
urge Assemblyman Wadie Deddeh to direct that said legislation be
prepared and that the City of Chula Vista be regularly informed as
to the status and contents of the legislation so that the City may
make contribution to the development of said legislation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Chula Vista be, and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward
certified copies of this resolution to Assemblyman Wadie Deddeh,
Senator James Mills and all members of the San Diego County Legisla-
tive Delegation in Sacramento and to the Comprehensive Planning
Organization.

Mark Sandstrom, chaff-1-i^an of the ad hoc con~rittee, made a report to the CPO Fo1_icy
Carmnittoe on l~ta.rch 20, 1972 and presented a summary of the basic e1_enrents of the
proposed lcois]_ation. It F:as requested that copies of the coc;unittee report be
forwarded to each mc::^ber of the Policy Corr~:ittee to ensure that it is given
careful review by the membership of each member agency's council or board.
Accordingly, I am forwarding several copies of the subject report. The chairman
has urged that each member agency review the attached report at its earliest
convenience. It is his intention to calla special meeting of the Policy Committee
at the earliest practicable date to review the comments and position presented by
each member agencyts representative.
