Home My WebLink AboutReso 1972-6498Form No. 312 Rev. 10-71 RESOLUTION NO. 6~Q$ RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR ONE (1) 35 FOOT AERIAL PERSONNEL PLATFORM The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the following four bids were received and opened at_ 2:00 p.m. on the 12th day of June 1972 , in the office of the__Purchasina Aaent of the City of Chula Vista for one (1) 35 foot aerial personnel platform 1. Al Asher & Son, Inc. $ 9,700.28 2. Asplundh Equipment Sales & Services 10,373.82 3. A. B. Chance Company 11,050.00 4. Burruss Engine & Body Company 12,346.00 and WHEREAS, the specifications were prepared with safety and longevity being of prime concern and the Director of Public works lists critical areas where bidders 1, 2 and 3 did not meet specifications, and WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent concurs with the Director of Public Works' report, and WHEREAS, it has been recommended that said contract be awarded to Burruss En ine & Bod Company whV lAQA a55uLeu Lne ~~Ly t at he ~~s a licensed vendor ~n the State of California and can produce an acceptable performance bond. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby accept said four bids, and does hereby award the contract for said 35 foot aerial personnel platform to Burruss Engine & Body Company to be completed in accordance with the specifications as approved by the Purchasing Agent of the City of Chula Vista. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $12,963.30 be, and the same is hereby authorized to be expended from the General Fund for the purposes set forth hereinabove. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of Chula Vista be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute said contract for and on behalf of the City of Chula Vista. Bids were opened and read at 2:00 P.^i. on June 12, 1972, in the office of the Purchasing Agent, for one (1) 35 foot aerial personnel platform. Six vendors were mailed bidding forms. Four vendors responded as follows: BIDDER 1. Al Asher & Son Inc. Los Angeles, Ca. 2. Asplundh Equipment Sales & Services Azusa, Ca. 3. A. B. Chance Company City of Industry, Ca. 4. Burruss Engine & Body Co. San Diego , Ca. The attached memo, Exhibit No. 1, from the Dl rector of Public 6Jorks, lists critical areas where bidders 1, 2 and 3 dial not meet specifications. The Purchasing Agent concurs with the report from the Director of Public ~~~orks, and therefore recommends award of contract to Burruss Engine ~ Body Company, in the amount of $12,346.00, plus sales tax of $617.30, fora total of $12,963.30.
