RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
VISTA, APPROVING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
VISTA AND SWEETWATER COMMUNITY COLLEG
"H" STREET RIGHT OF WAY GRANTED TO TH
SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE

AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that that certain agreement
between THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, a municipal corporation, and
SWEETWATER COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT, for granting of right of
way of "H" Street, and the location of entrances to the college
campus
dated the 25th day of April 19 72 a copy of
which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, the same as though
fully set forth herein be, and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of Chula
Vista be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute said
agreement for and on behalf of the City of Chula Vista.

AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT is made by and between the SWEETWATER COMMUNITY
COLLEGE DISTRICT of San Diego County, California, and the CITY OF CHULA
VISTA, County of San Diego.

the Sweetwater Community College District for granting
of "H" Street, and the location of entrances to the
1. The City will allow the College District to enter "H"
Street opposite the intersection of Rice Canyon Road and
"H" Street in order to provide an entrance to the South-
western College Campus. Rice Canyon Road is shown on
Sheet 4 of El Rancho del Rey Unit No. 1 Subdivision Improve-
ment Plans on file in the City Engineer's office. This
entrance to allow for four lanes of traffic, each lane of
14 ft. width, plus a dividing island of 10 ft. width. Total
width of throat of road to be 66 ft. Curb returns will be
constructed to provide for this entrance within the street
right of way. A temporary asphaltic concrete berm will
connect the ends of the curb returns parallel to center
line of "H" Street. This berm to be removed when the
College District develops this entrance to the Southwestern
College Campus.
2. The City will allow Sweetwater Community College District
a second entrance to Southwestern College Campus approxi-
mately midway between the above described entrance and the
intersection of "H" Street and Otay Lakes Road. This
entrance to allow for two lanes of traffic, each lane of
14 ft. width. Total width of throat of road to be 28 ft.
Curb returns will be constructed to provide for this entrance
within the street right of way. A temporary AC berm will
connect the ends of the curb returns parallel to center line
of "H" Street. This berm to be removed when the College
develops this entrance to the campus.
3. The College District, in coordination with the City,
will continue to explore possible additional entrance
locations to other roads surrounding the College in order
to maintain an efficient traffic flow. In cooperation with
the City, the College District will identify such entrances
when the need arises.
4. In accordance with the agreement and deed of dedication
for the "H" Street right of way, the improvements described
in paragraphs 1 and 2 above, including sidewalks, curbs,
drains and gutters as may be appropriate will be without
cost to the Sweetwater Community College District.

Dear Lane:
I wish to indicate appreciation for you and Councilman Scott attending our
Board meeting on April 13, for the purpose of a review of the H Street
Development.
Attached is a proposed agreement between the College District and the
City of Chula Vista. Please review and indicate suggested revisions, if
any. If the agreement is satisfactory, we would appreciate you having it
executed on behalf of the City and I will be happy to sign for the College
District.
We sincerely believe that the cooperation between the City and the College
District has been in the best interest of the citizens we are responsible to
serve.
