RESOLUTION N0. 5833
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 5216 AND APPROVING AND
ADOPTING REVISED UNIFORM BUILDING VALUATIONS
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista has
heretofore adopted Resolution No. 5216 on the 3rd day of June, 1969
establishing building valuations for the purpose of setting fees,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista has
heretofore adopted Resolution No. 5656 on the 26th day of May, 1970
endorsing the principle of uniform standards for building regulations
throughout San Diego County, and
WHEREAS, said uniform standards relative to the adoption of
uniform building valuations are now subject to revision, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals and Advisors of the City of
Chula Vista has recommended that Resolution No. 5216 has heretofore
adopted by the City Council be amended and new building valuations
be adopted as set forth in Exhibit "A", a copy of which is attached
hereto and incorporated herein as if set forth in full.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Chula Vista does hereby amend Resolution No. 5216 and adopt
the building valuations as set forth in Exhibit "A".

MULTI-STORY BUILDINGS - determine the valuation from the sum of the floor areas of all stori
PILE FOUNDATIONS - increase the valuation by $4.00 per lineal foot of pile for cast-in-place
concrete piles and $8.00 per lineal foot of pile for steel and pre-cast concrete piles.
Apply other dwelling cost modifiers as follows: fireplace $500.00; force-air heat $500.00;
wood shingles or wood shakes, 304 per square foot; the roof, 604 per square foot; extra
plumbing, $200.00 per fixture for more than six bathroom fixtures.

VALUATION FOR ADDITIONS TO EXISTING RESIDENCES (TYPE V)
Instructions: (1) Determine floor area for valuation as a product of exterior
dimensions.
(2) Determine appropriate basic cost/sq. ft. from table below.
(3) Compute basic valuation as product of cost/sq. ft. and floor area.
(4) Add applicable costs for proposed work in excess of basic
structure valuation (see list below table).

Install windows or sliding glass doors - $50.00 plus $2.00 per square foot of opening.
Close exterior wall openings - $20.00 plus $2.00 per sq. ft. of opening.
