FISCAL YEAR 1973-74 The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the Management Negotiation Team representing the City Manager of the City of Chula Vista, acting for and on behalf of the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, have heretofore met and conferred with the Chula Vista Employees' Association, an organi- zation representing certain members of classified employees in the City of Chula Vista, in accordance with the provisions of Section 3500 et seq. of the Government Code of the State of California, and WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding jointly prepared by said parties as a result of meeting and conferring has been pre- sented to the City Council and is contained in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as if set forth in full. 1IOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby approve and accept said Memorandum of Understanding as contained. in Exhibit "A" for fiscal year 1973-74. DATED Clerk of the City of the above is a full, and that the same has not City Clerk ~n H MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING CONCERNING WAGES AND OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AND THE CHULA VISTA EMPLOYEES' ASSOCIATION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1973-74 WHEREAS, the representatives of the City Manager of the City of Chula Vista, acting for and on behalf of the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, have heretofore met and conferred with the Chula Vista Employees' Association affiliated with the San Diego County Employees' Association, an organization representing certain members of classified employees in the City of Chula Vista, in accordance with the provisions of Section 3500 et seq. of the Government Code of the State of California. WHEREAS, as a result of meeting and conferring in good faith with said group, agreement has been reached on the following terms and conditions of employment as applied to those classified employees who are members of and represented by the Chula Vista Employees' Association, and said representatives of the City Manager and of the Chula Vista Employees' Association do now jointly prepare a written Memorandum of Understanding concerning said agreed terms and conditions of employment for presentation to the City Council of the City of Chula Vista for determination, to-wit: 1. The City of Chula Vista hereby agrees to certain salary adjustments for Fiscal Year 1973-74 as contained in Attachment "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as it sets forth in full. 2. The City of Chula Vista hereby agrees to the following benefit proposals as contained in Attachment "B" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as it sets forth in full. 3. It is further understood and agreed that any other benefits and working conditions and the terms and conditions thereof presently in effect shall remain unchanged unless and until said terms and conditions shall be modified as a result of meeting and conferring in good faith between the City of Chula Vista and the Chula Vista Employees' Association pursuant to the provisions of Section 3500 of the Government Code of the State of California, provided, further, however, that all terms and conditions agreed upon by this Memorandum of Understanding shall remain in full force and effect for the entire Fiscal Year 1973-74. ~~~ ~f~~y ~.~~~ -2- 4. It is further understood and agreed that if and in the event that the Legislature of the State of California adopts legislation which becomes law at any time during the Fiscal Year 1973-74 related to and affecting any of the terms and conditions of employment agreed to in this Memorandum of Understanding, that this Memorandum shall be void and of no further force and effect and all terms and conditions herein shall be subject to renegotiation. hn R. Long Term Disability - The City of Chula Vista will assume payment of 50% of the cost of providing long term disability insurance as provided by the Standard Insurance Company. The employee will provide the remaining 50% of the premium. 2. Health Insurance - The City of Chula Vista will adjust the existing health insurance program to provide for the following: A. Increase life insurance to $3,000 B. Increase major medical maximum to $50,000 C. Increase room and board allowable amount to $45 per day D. Change major medical to $100 deductible per year 3. Health Insurance Review Committee - The City of Chula Vista and the Chula Vista Employees' Association, affiliate of the San Diego County Municipal Employees' Association will form a joint Health Insurance Review Committee. The Committee will meet at a place and time mutually agreeable and will be composed of no more than three representatives of the Employees' Association and the City Management Staff.
