RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA APPROVING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA AND THE METROPOLITAN TRANSIT DEVELOPMENT BOARD (MTDB)
FOR SAN DIEGO TRANSIT (SDT) ROUTE 32 SERVICE FOR FY 1987-88
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Chula Vista that that certain agreement between THE
CITY OF CHULA VISTA, a municipal corporation, and THE METROPOLITAN TRANSIT
DEVELOPMENT BOARD (MTDB) for San Diego Transit (SDT) Route 32
service for FY 1987-88
dated the 2nd day of June , 1987, a copy of which is
attached hereto and incorporated herein, the same as though fully
set forth herein be, and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of
Chula Vista be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to
execute said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Chula
Vista.

FY 88 - PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SERVICE AGREEMENT
This Agreement is entered into by and between the Metropolitan
Transit Development Board, hereinafter called "Board," and the City of Chula
Vista, hereinafter called "City" in view of the following facts:
A. Board, pursuant to an agreement with the City of San Diego, operates
a mass transportation system involving the City of San Diego and its environs,
which includes City.
B. Board iS unable to provide satisfactory and adequate service to the
citizens of City without the financial aid of City.
- C. City recognizes the value of the service provided its citizens and
is willing to contract with Board to provide transportation service through
the areas of City.
NOW THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed between the parties hereto,
upon the following terms, covenants and conditions that:
1. Board agrees to furnish City a system of mass transportation for the
benefit of the citizens and visitors of City as agreed upon between the parties,
such service to be paid by City to Board according to the formula set forth in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein as though set forth in
full at this point. Such service shall be provided by San Diego Transit Corpora-
tion ("Corporation") under contract to Board.
2. Board, pursuant to the terms of said formula referred to in the pre-
ceding paragraph, shall provide such service to City as may be mutually agreed
upon including, but not limited to, the following:
a. Frequency of service;
b. Location of bus stops throughout City;
c. Number of hours per 24-hour period service is provided City;
d. Routes the vehicles operated by Corporation shall travel through
the streets of City;
e. City recognizes that Corporation has certain obligations under
the labor agreement with Corporation employees and operating
agreement with Board. Therefore, City agrees that in requesting
cancellation of service, major routing changes, or major schedule
changes, notice will be given on or before July 1, November 1,
or April 1, so that such changes can become effective within
one hundred twenty (120) days following these dates. This will
allow Corporation time to comply with the pertinent clauses of
Corporation's labor agreement and obtain appropriate approvals
from Board. It is further agreed that Board, when requested by
City, will make minor route changes, minor schedule changes, or
implement totally new service (i.e,, Express service, local
service, special service) at any time, limited only by the time
it takes to write the schedule and physically install the bus
stops, as long as Corporation would not be in violation of the
labor agreement with Corporation employees or operating agree-
ment with Board; and
f. Recognizing public convenience and safety, Board agrees, upon
request by City, to install, relocate or remove bus stops as
soon as possible upon mutual agreement of City, Board, and
Corporation staff who are charged with this responsibility.
Board agrees that installation and maintenance of bus stop poles
and signs is the responsibility of the Corporation. City agrees
that maintenance of bus stop areas to include the public right-
of-way and red curb is the responsibility of City,
3. If Board is unable to provide service as designated in this Agreement,
Board may cancel all or parts of the service upon ninety (90) days written
notice to City, and City shall receive reimbursement on contracted amount based
upon net costs and route miles contained in this Agreement.
4. This Agreement shall be binding upon the parties hereto, their succes-
sors and assigns, and shall continue in effect from July 1, 1987 to June 30,
1988. New contract terms will be negotiated each year prior to July 1.
5. After June 30, 1988, the amount of the funding provided by City will
be adjusted using Corporation audit figures to reflect the actual cost of pro-
viding service during that fiscal year.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this Agreement to be
executed by their respective duly authorized representatives on this 2nd day
of June , 1987.

Rpute 32 Northbound
Eastbound on Main Street from City limits at Hollister Street, left Broadway,
left E Street, left Woodlawn, right into EI Street/Bayfront Trolley Station via
the first driveway beyond the 240 Executive Building sign, ahead to the
Route 32 bus bay. 4.46 miles.
Route 32 Southbound
From the terminal at the E Street/Bayfront Trolley Station, ahead out of the
station, left Woodlawn, right E Street, right Broadway, right Main Street to
City limit at Hollister Street. 4.34 miles.
