RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA APPROVING REMOVAL OF PARKING ON
"G" STREET NEAR BROADWAY
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, Traffic Engineering analysis has indicated the
need to install left-turn pockets on "G" Street at its
intersection with Broadway, and
WHEREAS, in order to install the left-turn pocket, 260
feet of parking on each side of "G" Street west of Broadway and
260 feet of parking on the north side of "G" Street each of
Broadway must be removed to provide adequate room for the pockets
and the required lateral transition from the existing centerline
stripe, and
WHEREAS, implementation of this proposal should enhance
the overall traffic safety in this area and the loss of on-street
parking is not expected to cause any significant impact, and
WHEREAS, all affected area residents and property owners
have been notified of the proposed removal of parking on "G"
Street near Broadway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Chula Vista does hereby approve the removal of
parking on "G" Street near Broadway.

TO: Occupants on "G" Street Near the Intersection of "G" Street and
Broadway
SUBJECT: Notification of City Council Meeting
In order to improve traffic flow and safety at the intersection of "G" Street
and Broadway, the City of Chula Vista Traffic Engineerin9 Division has
determined through studies, that left turn lanes should be installed on "G"
Street at this intersection. In order to accomplish this, some parking spaces
on "G" Street near Broadway must be removed. A plat is attached for your
information which shows the existing and proposed striping as well as the
proposed parking restrictions.
The City Council will consider the staff recommendation at their meeting
scheduled for Tuesday June 2, 1987. The meetin9 will convene at 4:00 p.m. in
the Council Chambers located in the Public Services Building, 276 Fourth
Avenue. You and any other interested parties are invited to attend this
