[ X16 ] CHULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF: MARCH 27, 1973 TTF.M TITLE: INITIATED BY BACKGROUND Resolution - Approving Agreement for City Participation in The Construction of Sewer Facilities Adjacent to Larkhaven Chula Vista Unit 3 Concurrent with The Installation of Public ImprovE ments And Authorizing Use of Sewer Income Fund Director of Public Works/City Engineer ~~ Resolution No. 3709, dated May 11, 1965, provided for the future con- struction of a gravity sewer system bypassing the Max Avenue Sewer Lift Station and established connection charges for the properties affected anc benefited by the future construction of said sewer. To date, all charges for those areas intended to be served by this gravity system have been paid, totaling $5,084. The Max Avenue Sewer Lift Station is already overloaded and cannot accept additional sewage. The subdivider proposed this agreement with the City of Chula Vista through which he would con- struct said sewer and would pay for 30~ of the construction costs, less the $5,084 which has already been paid by other developers. The gravity sewer system from Max Avenue to the northerly end of Loma Lane is designated as Project Number PW-5-73, Priority 7, in the 1973-74 Capital Improvement Program, recommended for funding of $26,000. Con- struction by subdivider would probably advance the completion of the project by at least one year, which would save approximately $3,500, whicY is the estimated yearly cost of maintenance and operation of the Max Avenue Sewer Lift Station. Recommend appropriation of the City's share of costs, i.e. $11,800 from the Sewer Income Fund.
