HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1973-69387/12/73 RESOLUTION NO. 6938 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CHULA VISTA AMENDING THE GENERAL PLAN OF CHULA VISTA FOR APPROXIMATELY 3.33 789 "E" STREET CITY OF OF THE CITE ACRES AT The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, in accordance with the requirements of the State Planning Act, the Planning Commission and the City Council'', have hereto- fore held public hearings to consider the amendment of the~General Plan designating certain properties presently delineated as industrial uses to commercial visitor uses, and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission by Resolution Np. PcM-73-8 adopted on the 27th day of June, 1973, a copy of which is attached here- to and incorporated herein by reference as if set forth in'full, has approved said revision of the General Plan, and WHEREAS, based upon said recommendation of the Punning Commission as contained in Resolution No. PCM-73-8, and the evidence presented at the public hearing, the City Council now desires to make said revision to the General Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby revise the General Plan of ', the City of Chula Vista in accordance with Resolution PCM-73-8 as adopted by the Planning Commission. DATED City Clerk of the City of that the above is a full, and that the same has not City Clerk RESoLUI IoN No. s crti-i~-~s RESOLCITJON OF THL CITY PLANNING COM~~IISSIO~i RECO(•;MFNDING TO THE CITY ~~OUNCIL• A REVISION TO TIIE GENERAL Pi.AN FOR 3.33 ACRES AT 78~ "E" STREET WfIEREAS, the City of Chula Vista has «n adopted General Plan, and WHEREAS, State law requires that zone designations of property conform to the General Plan, and WHEREAS, St~-eet Properties, Inc. requested consideration of a change in the General Plan to accommodate a rezoning from I to C-V-P for 3.33 acres located at 789 "E" Street, and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission set the time and place fora hearing to consider revision of the General Plan, and notice of said hearing, together with its purpose, was given by the publtication in a newspaper of general circulation in the City at least 10 days prior to the date of said hearing, and WHEREAS, a hearing was held at said time and place, namely 7:00 p.m.,. April 23, June 13 and June 27, 1973 in the Council Chamber, Civic Center,, before the Planning Commission and said hearing was thereafter closed. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: 1. From facts presented to the Commission, the Commission finds that public necessity, convenience and general welfare require the adoption of an amendment to the General Plan to change from Industrial to Visitor Commercial the designation for 3.33 acres located at 789 "E" Street. 2. Findings of fact in support of said determination are as follows: a. The proposed amendment to the General. Plan is in conformance with the Bayfront Plan submitted by consultant Sedway/Capke. b. The site is located adjacent to the freeway interchange at a major entrance to the City and is well suited for visitgr commercial use. 3. The. Planning Commission recommends to the City Council that said amendment to the General~Plan be adopted. . 4. That this resolution be transmitted~to the City Council.
