RESOLUTION NO. 6908
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION FOR THE UNCLASSIFIED
EMPLOYEES BOTH FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA AND PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN TERMS AND CONDITIONS
OF EMPLOYMENT FOR UNCLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended that wages for
the unclassified employees of the City of Chula Vista, both full-
time and part-time, for the fiscal year 1973-74 be those shown in
Exhibit "A", attached hereto, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended for all full-time
unclassified employees certain terms and conditions of employment re-
lating to Medical and Insurance Coverage, Long Term Disability and
Vacation Accumulation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Chula Vista does hereby approve and adopt the compensation
schedules and terms and conditions of employment for full-time and
part-time unclassified employees of the City of Chula Vista as set
forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto.

MEDICAL AND INSURANCE COVERAGE AND LONG TERM DISABILITY
The cost of improved dependents medical insurance coverage and long term
disability insurance shall be fully paid by the City of Chula Vista,
effective July 1, 1973 for the following executive classifications:
Assistant City Manager
Chief of Police
City Clerk
City Librarian
City Manager
Director of Building and Housing
Director of Finance
Director of Parks and Recreation
Director of Personnel
Director of Planning
Director of Public Works -
City Engineer
Fire Chief
Purchasing Agent
The City Attorney shall have the option of improved dependents medical
}~ insurance and long term disability insurance or, an eighty ($80) dollar
a month car allowance in lieu of the dependents medical insurance..
Fifty percent (50%) of the cost of long term disability insurance as
provided by the Standard Insurance Company shall be paid by the City
of Chula Vista, effective July 1, 1973 for the classifications of Deputy
City Attorney, Secretary to the City Attorney, Secretary to the City
Manager and Secretary to the Mayor.
VACATION ACCUMULATION
The City Manager, Assistant City Manager, City Attorney and all Department
Heads shall be required to use all but one week (40 hours) of their annual
earned vacation each year as determined by their employment anniversary
date. The remaining one week carry over may be accumulated to a maximum
of six weeks (240 hours) for those incumbents currently earning three
weeks annual vacation, and eight weeks (320 hours) for those currently
earning four weeks annual vacation.
Hereafter, new incumbents in these positions and those current incumbents
whose annual vacation may increase from three weeks to four weeks will be
limited to a maximum accumulation of six weeks (240 hours) regardless of
their annual vacation earning rate.
EXISTING BENEFITS
All existing benefits applicable to the full-time Unclassified Service
shall continue to apply except as modified above.
