[ 5 ] I CHULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF: July 10, 1973 ITEM TITLE: Resolution - Approving Street Lighting Contra t with San Diego Gas & Electric Company ~~ INITIATED BY: Director of Public Works/City Engineer n n r~vrn niTTTTI Council Resolution 3707 of April 19, 1965 directed the Ma or of the City of Chula Vista to execute an agreement with the San Diego Gas & Electric Company for street lighting service. Starting July 1, 1973, the Traffic Engineering Division o the Public Works Department assumed the maintenance responsibility f r the City`s ornamental street lights. Since San Diego Gas & Electric Company is no longer maint fining the ornamental street lights, it is necessary to execute a ne contract to reflect this decreased responsibility. Commission-Board Recommendation: N.A. Department Head Recommendation: Execute the contract and grant permission for Director o Public Works to negotiate changes within budgetary limitations, such s increasing the number of street lights.
