ITEM TITLE: Resolution - Accepting Bids and Awarding Contract for
Screenings (Stone Chips)

Bids were received and opened at 3:00 P.M. on June 18, 1973 in the office of the
Purchasing Agent for furnishing screenings (stone chips) for the period July 1,
1973 through June 30, 1974.
An estimated 2,500 tons of screenings (stone chips) will be ordered delivered
to the City yard.
Three vendors were mailed bidding documents. Two vendors submitted bids. See
attached exhibit number 1 listing bid results.
Conrock Company submitted the low bid at $5.36 per ton.

Financial Statement:
Purchases shall be made only on availability of funds as
certified by the Finance Director.
Commission-Board Recommendation:
Department Head Recommendation: Recommend acceptance of bids and awarding of
contract to Conrock Company.
City Manager Recommendation: Concur with Department Head. The Director of Public
Works is awaiting an opportunity to describe the "L.A. Rattler Test" this year
regarding this item.
