[ 5 ] CHULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF: January 16, 1973 ITEM TITLE: Resolution - Approving Agreement between the City and the County of San Diego for the Improvement of Brandywine Avenue and Dora Lane INITIATED BY: Roru~RnrT~.m Director of Public Works/City Engineer ~~ The construction of Brandywine Avenue from Telegraph Canyon Road to approximately 2300 feet south and a portion of Dora Lane is necessary to provide access to the proposed Chula Vista Community Hospital. Portions of Brandywine Avenue and Dora Lane lie within the jurisdictional limits of both the City of Chula Vista and the County of San Diego. The attached agreement will simplify the governmental processes involved in the improvement of Brandywine Avenue and Dora Lane by making the City responsible for negotiations with the developer, for processing improvement plans, for collecting all fees, and for all inspection and materials testing for the project. Placing the project under the control of only one agency (the City) will both speed and simplify the project. Further, it will permit construction of a more uniform and higher quality product than would be expected under a dual control situation. The form of the agreement has been developed jointly by City and County staffs. Following action by the City Council the document will be sub- mitted by the County staff to the Board of Supervisors for their approval.
