[ 6 ] CHULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF: January 9, 19 73 ITEM TITLE: Resolution - Appropriating funds for purchase of tape recorder INITIATED BY: City Clerk BACKGROUND At the meeting of January 2, 1973, the City Cleric reported that the present tape recorder used to tape City Council meetings and conferences was constantly in need of repair. The Communications Technician recommended the purchase of a 9000X Tandberg which would be installed as a permanent unit in the Council Chamber. The cost of the recorder is $617.05 plus tax. The City Clerk requested the amount of $800.00 which would cover the cost of the recorder, installation, and a locking device to be installed on the two recorders in the Civic Center (Planning and City Clerk) which would prevent anyone from erasing tapes, either accidentally or deliberately.
