Home My WebLink AboutReso 1973-6722RESOLUTION NO. 6722 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA REQUESTING THE COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS TO CONSOLIDATE THE SPECIAL ELECTION OF SAID CITY TO CONSIDER CERTAIN CHARTER AMENDMENTS AND AN ORDINANCE, TO BE HELD ON APRIL 17, 1973 WITH THE GOVERNING BOARD MEMBER ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE SAME DATE The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, this City Council has commenced proceedings for the calling of a special election in the City of Chula Vista on April 17, 1973 for the purpose of considering certain amend- ments to the Charter of the City of Chula Vista, and an ordinance of the City of Chula Vista, which amendments will be considered at a public hearing to be scheduled for February 6, 1973 at which time notice of the election and an ordinance calling the election will be adopted by the City Council, and WHEREAS, it is desirable that said election be consoli- dated with the Governing Board Member Election to be held on the same date and that within the City the precincts, polling places and election officers for the two elections be the same, and that the County Registrar of Voters canvass the returns of the City's special election and that said City's special election be held in all respects as if there were only one election. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista that the County Superintendent of Schools be, and he is hereby requested to consolidate the special election to be held in said City on April 17, 1973 with the Governing Board Member Election to be held on said date. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the propositions to be con- sidered at said election, as tentatively determined by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, are attached hereto and marked as Exhibit "A", and incorporated herein by reference as if set forth in full.
