RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA APPROVING THE CITIZEN PARTICIPATION PROCESS
RELATIVE TO THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
ACT OF 1974 AND SETTING DECEMBER 5, 1974 AT 7:30 p.m.
AS THE DATE AND TIME FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO ACCEPT
PUBLIC TESTIMONY RELATIVE TO THE PREPARATION OF
A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista desires
to obtain funding under the provision of Public Law 93-383, the Housing
and Community Development Act of 1974, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary under the rules proposed by the
Department of Housing and Urban Development as published in the
Federal Register Volume 9 , No. 181, dated September 17, 1974, to:
a. Provide citizens with adequate information concerning
the amount of funds available for proposed community develop-
ment and housing activities, the range of activities that
may be taken, and other important program requirements,
b. Hold public hearings to obtain the views of citizens
on community development and housing needs; and
c. Provide citizens adequate opportunity to participate
in the development of the application and in the develop-
ment of any revision, changes or amendments.
and
WHEREAS, a citizen participation process has been devel-
oped to meet the requirements of said rules and presented to the
City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Chula Vista that the proposed citizens participation process is hereby
adopted and the City Manager be, and he is hereby directed to proceed
with its implementation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Chula Vista hereby designates Thursday, December 5, 1974 at 7:30 p.m.
in the Council Chambers of the City of Chula Vista, 276 Fourth Avenue,
Chula Vista, California as the time and place for a public hearing to
be held for the purpose of providing citizens of Chula Vista with an
opportunity to participate and voice their views on community develop-
ment and housing needs within their respective communities, and to
express their views as to the allocation of Community Development
Block Grant funds to be made available to the City of Chula Vista
in the amount of approximately $264,000 by Title 1 of the Housing
and Community Development Act of 1974, and other titles of the Act
with specific reference to housing.
