HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1975/01/07 Item 17• ~ AGENDA ITEM NO CHULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF: January 7, 1975 ITEM TITLE: Resolution: Accepting Comprehensive Employment and Training'Act (CETA) Title II Funds INITIATED BY: City Manager (Acting Director of Personnel) BACKGROUND: The attached agreement received from the County of San Diego authorizes the City of Chula Vista to hire Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) participants, under Title II of the Act for public service employment, as per Exhibit "B" (Occupational Summary). The City's Application for Funding and Budget Estimate is attached as Exhibit "A" and by reference is incorporated here- in. The agreement reflects the period of the grant extending through December 31, 1975. The agreement also designates the City Manager as being authorized to administer the agreement in behalf of the City. Approval by Resolution for the acceptance of this agreement is recommended for immediate action. [17] ATTACHED: Resolution [X] Ordinance [ ] Agreement [X] Plat [ ] See EXHIBITS ~ ] Nb~ 1,2 Financial Statement: Authorization is requested to transfer funds to the budget accounts 1850-5101 and 1850-5285 from the Salary Savings of each affected depart- ment (Fire, $3,290; 01-2340-5101: Personnel, $620: O1-1253-5101: Planning,', $1,600; 14-1620-5101: Police, $6,890; 01-2150-5101: Public Works, $70; 01-3220-510'1) who employs personnel whose salary and fringe benefits exceed the maximum allowable under Commission-Board Recommendation: CETA. The amount necessary for next fiscal year will be subject to Council considera- NA tion during its normal budget review sessions. Department Head Recommendation: Recommend approval. City Manager Recommendation: Recommend approval. This action is a product of the CETA program report previously reviewed by the City Council, ~~
