[ ~ J January 7, 1975 ITEM TITLE: Resolution- Accepting bids for the sale of City-owned property and authorizing the execution of the purchase contract INITIATED BY: Pur^haGing Agent n n nvnnnn~.Tn At the meeting of December 10, 1974, Council directed staff to re-bid Parcel 2 of City-owned vacant land, located at the intersection of the extension ofi Palomar Street and Oleander. Parcel 2 cons~st~ of 3.07 acres and is zoned R-1. Parcel 1 (4.35 acres) was sold to American Housing Guild previously. Notice of sale of land was printed twice in the Chula Vista Star-News in irhe form of a display ad. Ten real estate development companies in San DiegojCeunty were mailed notices of the sale. City Manager Recommendation: M(e orijinally laid ;6,OU0 per acre for this land as psrt of a 2~--acre acquisition. This is one of the least valuable sections of that original acquisition. Kith the acquisition of this property, and continent on sub- division activity, American Housing Guild will accept responsibility for the improve ment of the south half of Palomar Street and the west half of Oleander Street abutting said property, which shifts a si=nificant capital cost burden from the City. Therefore, approval of the Mexican Kousin~ Guild bid is recoawended.
