[ 14 ] CHULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF: February 11, 1975 ITEM TITLE: INITIATED BY: BACKGROUND Resolution - Grant of Easement for Back-up Generator for Booster Water Pump Station in Rancho Robinhood Subdivision to Robert E. Casey Acting Director of Public Works J„( The City is requiring the developer of Rancho Robinhood Subdivision, Robert E. Casey, to install a booster water pump station to meet fire flow requirements to serve 14 lots at the highest elevation in the sub- division. To guarantee that electrical power will be available at times of interruptions of electrical service, the developer must also install a back-up generator to supply electrical needs to the booster water pump station. The developer is making final arrangements with California-American Water Company for the installation of a pump station. The pump station will be installed in Lot "PJ", which belongs to the water company. Cal-Am Water Company has requested that the back-up generator not be installed on their property since they do not assume the responsibility of maintaining the back-up generator. The developer, Robert E. Casey, has requested per- mission from the City to construct the generator on Lot 115, which was dedicated on the final map of the subdivision as open space. Lot 115 lies within Chula Vista Open Space District #3. Permission to construct the back-up generator on Lot 115 can be accomplished by the City granting an easement to Robert E. Casey. The landscape and irrigation plan for the subdivision does not show any landscaping to be installed around the proposed pump station or back-up generator. As of February 5, 1975, no information was available as to what the back-up generator facility would look like. The developer is soliciting proposals from various suppliers for a package unit and it is anticipated that this unit would be enclosed within some type of shelter.
