Resolution - Setting Dates for Property to be Ready to Receive
Underground Service and Removal of Overhead Facilities -
Broadway Undergrounding District, "H" S eet t~ "I" Street

The City Council, by Resolution 7379 on July 23, 1974, established an
underground utility district on Broadway from "H" Street to "I" Street.
San Diego Gas & Electric Company, on November 18, 1974, informed us that
they propose to start construction on undergrounding the utilities on
Broadway between "H" and "I" Streets on May 1, 1975 and complete their
construction by August 26, 1975. Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company
has indicated that they will have their poles removed by October 3, 1975.
The utility companies have recommended that the City establish June 16,
1975 as the date by which customers now served from the overhead facilities
to be removed be ready to receive service from the underground system
to be installed and that October 3, 1975 be set as the date that all
poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures shall be removed.
Therefore, in accordance with Section 34.309 of the Chula Vista City Code,
the City Council is requested to fix:
1. June 16, 1975 as the date property in the District must
be ready to receive underground service.
2. October 3, 1975 as the date poles, overhead wires and associated
overhead structures shall be removed. The City Clerk shall send
a copy of the resolution to all affected utility companies and
property owners.
