COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT
ITEM N0.
15
FOR MEETING OF: 2/24/76
ITEM TITLE: Resolution #8073: Granting Temporary Easement to Pacific Telephone
and Telegraph Company Within the Future Right of .Way of Oleander Av:
SUBMITTED BY~ Director of Public Works/City Engineer I~
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company (PT&T Co.) is presently advertising
for bids to construct underground duct lines along Oleander Avenue. These
underground duct lines will terminate at their new electronic switching
facility on Telegraph Canyon Road adjacent to Southwestern College.
A portion of Oleander Avenue adjacent to Greg Rogers Park has not been con-
structed. The future right of way within this area for Oleander Avenue has
been reserved by the City, who is the fee owner. PT&T Co. has requested
that the City grant them a temporary easement for their facilities within
the future right of way of Oleander Avenue until such time that Oleander
Avenue is constructed and named and dedicated by the City Council. The
easement will become null and void at the time City Council dedicates and
names Oleander Avenue.
The Engineering staff recommends that the City Council grant this easement.
PT&T Company will be constructing their facility such that there will be no
future conflict with the City's planned facilities for Oleander Avenue.
A transparency is available for Council viewing.
