HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1975/10/14 Item 07Cf CITY OF CHULA VISTA ITEM NG. ~ COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT FOR MEETING OF: 10/14/75 ITEM TITLE: Resolution #7921 -Approving Change Order No. 2 for Rosebank Sewer 1911 Act Improvement District 75-1 SUBMITTED BY~ Director of Public Works/City Engineer ITEM EXPLANATION On August 8, 1975 a letter was mailed to the property owners within the Rose- bank Sewer District. The letter outlined two methods that-the owners could use to have their sewer laterals constructed. 1. The lateral constructed by the Improvement District contractor and the cost assessed exclusively against their property, or 2. The lateral constructed by the City in accordance with our sewer lateral ordinance. The City received 8 responses indicating the property owners desire to have the contractor construct the sewer lateral and 51 responses indicating the owners desire to have the City construct the sewer lateral. Of the 8 responses to have the contractor construct the lateral, 3 property owners cancelled because of the excessive cost and 5 property owners have executed a contract with the contractor for their lateral construction. Change Order No. 2 has been prepared to accommodate the 5 property owners and will increase the contract amount for sewer lateral construction by $1764. In addition, the City caused the contractor to construct 6 sewer lateral stub-outs to protrude from the manholes to serve future lateral construction in the cul-de-sac ends of Casselman Place and Corte Maria Avenue. Item No. 7 .Supplemental page 2 The total increase in the contract amount is $1,884, as shown in Change Order No. 2. This will change the total contract cost to $108,014.70. Change Order No. 2 also allows for a 35-day extension of time to allow for the extra work. The extension of time will change the contract completion date to November 10, 1975. ~ ~~~
