HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1976-8092RESOLUTION NO. 8092 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA TO EXECUTE AN APPLICATION FOR ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FROM THE CROSSING PROTECTION FUND BY THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COP'!1!4ISSION OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE-HALF OF THE ACTUAL COSTS OF THE CITY'S SHARE OF THE COSTS OF CONSTRUCTING PROTECTION FOR THE CROSSING ON F STREET WEST OF WOODLAWN AVENUE, MILE POST 36B-7.65-X-N The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista that the P4ayor of the City of Chula Vista be, and he is hereby authorized to execute a certain document known as an Application for Allocation of Funds, attached hereto and marked as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference as if set forth in full. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works be, and he is hereby authorized to submit said application request to the Public Utilities Commission. The present protection of the crossing is as follows: One reflectorized crossing sign. 3. The proposed protection at the crossing is as follows: One flashing light grade crossing with additional light unit mounted on cantilever arm. 4. The vehicular traffic for a 24-hour period during a typical weekday for "r" Street at woodlawn Avenue is 6,770 vehicles (bath directions. 5. Detailed cost estimates supplied by San Diego and Arizona Eastern Railway Company are attached as Exhibit ~`B". 6. The attached Exhibit "C" is a true copy of a contract evidencing that Agreement iias been entered into between the City of Chula Vista and the railroad for the installation of the proposed pro- tection and division and payment of the costs thereof. 7. The City of Ch~.ila Vista is willing and able to narticinate in the costs of the construction in the amount of $4,475 over and above the amount of the requested allocation, and the amount will be available upon billing by the railroad. 8. During the last three fiscal years the amount of money expended by the City of Chula Vista for crossing protection was $6,720.06. The amount available during the present fiscal year is $8,950.00. 9. The additional protection is being provided at the request of the PUC. 10.
