CHULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF: Mdy 13, 1975
ITEM TITLE: Resolution - Authorizing Waiver of Greens Fees for the
First Annual Ladies Golf Tournament
INITIATED BY: Director of Parks and Recreation
BACKGROUND
The Special Events Committee of the Chula Vista Branch of the
American Cancer Society has requested a waiver of greens fees for
its first annual Ladies Golf Tournament, to be held at the Chula
Vista Municipal Golf Course on Friday, October 17, 1975.
The proceeds from this event will be used for cancer research and
the programs sponsored by the Chula Vista Branch Office of the
American Cancer Society.
The loss of City revenues involved in a waiver of greens fees for
this event would amount to approximately $400. A review of Friday
play in October indicates that 100 players could be scheduled in
regular player use of the golf course.

Dear Mr. Hall:
The Special Events Committee of the Chula Vista
Branch of the American Cancer Society has sched-
uled its first annual Ladies Golf Tournament at
the Chula Vista Municipal Golf Course for Oct.
17, 1975.
This is a fund raising event and for this reason
we respectfully request that the green fees be
waived by the department. Monies realized from
this program will be used primarily to further
cancer research especially in San Diego County
namely at Salk and Scripps institutes and at the
University of California; also, it will assist
in the operation of our Chula Vista Branch office
along with the many programs offered i.e., free
wheelers, meals on wheels, hospital visitations,
educational, and bandages to name a few and all
free to the citizens of Chula Vista.
A minimum of 100 golfers are expected to par-
ticipate and we hope to draw players from outside
this area which should reacquaint these players
with our fine golf course.
