CHULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF: April 22, 1975
ITEM TITLE: Resolution - Appropriating Funds for Payment to the Spring
Valley Sanitation District for Accrued Depreciation Credit Due
State for Replacement of Abandoned Sewers Associated with
Route 54 Construction
INITIATED BY: Director of Public Works/City Engineer/~ (~ /
BACKGROUND: / J ~/
By Council Resolution 6725, the City approved a Utility Agreement No.
15171-A with the State for the relocation of City owned sewers in
conflict with the proposed Route 54 construction between I-5 and I-805.
Per this agreement, the City is to credit the State for accrued depre-
ciation of those abandoned sewer facilities for which the State has
constructed substitute facilities in a relocated position.
The Spring Valley Sanitation District has been designated to coordinate
this project and to act as the contracting agency. The District has
determined the accrued depreciation amounts due and submitted appropriate
billings to the participating agencies.
A billing of $280 has been submitted to the City for providing substitute
facilities to serve the Harbor Drive-In Theater which was previously
served by sewer in Fifth Avenue (now abandoned).
Staff has reviewed the depreciation calculations and finds them to be
accurate and equitable.
