HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1975/07/22 Item 12ITEM TITLE: Resolution ~} .~~ 3 G SUBMITTED BY Director ITEM EXPLANATION: CITY OF CHULA VISTA ITEM N0. 12 COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT FOR MEETING OF: 7 22 •75 - Accepting Bids and Awarding Contract for the Con- struction of Street and Drainage Improvements - North Glover Avenue at "C" Street Phase I, Gas Tax Project #196 of Public Works/City Engineer YV The Director of Public Works received bids for the construction of street improvements adjacent to the new D.M.V. facility on North Glover Avenue north of "C" Street on June 26, 1975 at 11:00 A.M. in the City Council Chambers. The low bidder is B. E. Wilson Contracting Corporation with a bid of $62,509.46. The project is a joint venture with the State of California. The State agreed to pay up to $48,919.28 of the costs for Phase I of the project per the agreement approved by the City Council on May 13, 1975 by Resolution 7735. This amount was based on an estimated construction cost of $73,369. Based upon the actual bid price of $62,509.46 plus 10$ contingencies, the State's participation is $39,400. This leaves a balance o£ $29,400 as the City's share for Phase I. Bids were received by eight contractors. Following is a list of bidders: B. E. Wilson Contracting Corp., Chula Vista $62,509.46 R. E.
