HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1975-7869RESOLUTION N0. 7869 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF PUBLIC PTORKS FILES The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follovas: 6dHEREAS, the Public Works Department is in the process of reviewing files stored in the basement of the Police facility and the vault in the City Attorney's office and has found that many of the files are outdated or are duplications of files that are stored in other departments, and WHEREAS, the Public Works Department desires to destroy those outdated or duplicated files most of which are simply miscel- laneous correspondence, and PdHEREAS, any files that would be destroyed are more than five years old and come within the province of documents authorized for destruction by the Public Records Act of the State of California. NOYd, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista that the Director of Public Works of the City of Chula Vista be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to proceed with the destruction of those outdated or duplicated files and docu- ments that are in excess of five years of age and authorized by the Public Records Act of the State of California.
