HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1975-7859RESOLUTION NO. 7859 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AMENDING THE POLICY FOR PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPI~fENT RELATING TO LANDSCAPING REQUIREMENTS The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista has heretofore amended the Landscape Manual, and WI-IEREAS, said Landscape Manual includes certain standards for residential Planned Unit Developments, and WFIEREAS, it is now desired to revise the policy for Planned Unit Developments to provide consistency with the Land- scape Manual. 110W, T13EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby amend the Planned Unit Development Policy in accordance with Resolution PCM-75-9 of the Planning Commission, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", and incorporated herein by reference as if set forth in full. PCD'1-75-9 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLAIVNIrd(, COMMISSION RFCOMMENllING TO THE CITY COUNCIL TFIE AD01'TIO": OF AN AMENOMEfdT TO THE PLAIJf1ED UNIT DEVELOPMENT POLICY 41HEREAS, the City of Chula Vista has a Policy for Planned Unit Develop- ments, adopted on November 13, 1S73 by City Council Resolution No. 7077, and WHEREAS, Section 6 of said Policy sets forth special landscaping standards, and WHEREAS, in the process of revising the City Landscaping Manual, the special requirements for landscaping of Planned Unit Developments were considered and certain changes were proposed, and lv'HEREAS, the City Planning Commission <et the time and place for a public hearing to consider modifications to Section 6 of the Planned Unit Development Policy regarding landscaping reyuirements, and notice of said hearing, together with its purpose, was given by the publication in a news- paper of general circulation ir. the city at least 10 days prior to the date of said hearing, and blHrprpc, h^arir.g .., held at .,,.id ti,,,_ Ana pl• -ly, 7 p a ,.ce, mm~~ .C~ ..a., July 9, 1915 in the Council Chamber, City Hall, 276 Fourth Avenue, before the Planning Ccrnmission and said hearing was thereafter closed. NOW THEREFORE GE IT RESO!VED that the City Planning Comunission recommends to the City Council the adoption of an amendment to Section 6 of the Planned Unit Development. Policy to read as follows: "6. Landscaping a. Level areas (5i grade or less) shall 6e predominantly covered with a ground cover such as grass to promote recreational use. b. A minimum of two trees per dwelling are required in addition to those designated for slope and street tree planting. These trees may be installed anywhere as required to effect a good design. c. At least 15 percent of the trees shall ha v^ a minimum caliper of 3" if standards and 2" if multiple trunks, unless otherwise approved by the City Landscape Architect. d. At least 25 per cent of the frets shall be a minimum of 1~" caliper y if standards and 1" if multiple trunks. •' ,~S . e. A preliminary landscape, plan is required at the time of filing the tentative subdivision map and a final landscape plan is required at the tune of suhmitting a gradiny plan. i.
