HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1976-8266_. / RESOLUTION NO. 8266 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VI6TA CERTIFYING EIR 76-2 AND APPROVING THE MODIFI- CATION OF "F" STREET FROM FOURTH AVENUE TO CHURCH AVENUE The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: [9HEREAS, an application for an Environmental Impact Report for the modification of "F" Street was filed by the Public Works Department of the City of Chula Vista, and WHEREAS, after independent review and analysis of said application, the Environmental Review Committee of the City of Chula Vista issued the Draft Environmental Impact Report, and WHEREAS, legal notice of the availability of said Draft Environmental Impact Report for review was given, and said draft was available for public review and scrutiny for a period in excess of thirty days, and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Chula Vista held a public hearing for the purpose of taking public testimony on said Draft Environmental Impact Report, and WI3EREAS, the Environmental Review Coordinator prepared a final Environmental Impact Report considering the Draft Environ- mental Impact Report and public comment on said draft, and WHEREAS, the final Environmental Impact Report was con- sidered by the Planning Commission of the City of Chula Vista, and WHEREAS, the widening of various portions of "F" Street from Interstate Route 5 through and beyond Third Avenue has been considered by this City from time to time since 1967, and WHEREAS, the portion between Broadway and Second Avenue was listed as being deficient in the "Topics" study prepared by Alan P4. Voorhees and Associates in 1972 and widening was recom- mended as a way of alleviating that deficiency, and WHEREAS, said widening project between Ash Avenue and Church Avenue was submitted for fund allocation as a Federal Aid project and a maximum of $139,000 has been allocated for the work, and WHEREAS, three alternatives as shown on Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as if set forth in full, have been considered by the various staff personnel and commissions of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby certify that EIR 76-2 has been reviewed and the information considered, and that is has been pre- pared in accordance with CEQA, the California Administrative Code and the Environmental Review Policy of the City of Chula Vista. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby adopt Alternative 3 for the modification of "F" Street from Fourth Avenue to Church Avenue.
