HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Statement 1977/01/04 Item 15CITY OF CHULA VISTA ITEM N0. 15 COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT FOR MEETING OF: 1 4 77 ITEM TITLE: Resolution 8465: Accepting Proposal for Appraisal of Quintard/TObias Park Property SUBMITTED BY Director of Public Works/City Engineer ,~ J ITEM EXPLANATION: On December 14, 1976 the Director of Public Works presented an agenda item to the City Council requesting that the Council accept a proposal from the Comstock Company to appraise the proposed park site on the south side of Quintard Street between First Avenue and Tobias Drive. The City Council determined at this meeting that an appraisal sufficient for condemnation proceedings was not required at this time and directed staff to negotiate with the Comstock Company the price of a preliminary appraisal. The Engineering staff has negotiated the price of $1,000 with the Comstock Company for a preliminary appraisal report. A preliminary appraisal report is basically used for budgeting and negotia- tions and the main difference betweer. a preliminary appraisal and a complete appraisal report is that the investigation is not as detailed as a complete appraisal. Market data would not be researched as extensively as with an appraisal being prepared for condemnation proceedings. The Director of Parks & Recreation indicates that $1,000 is available in the Park Acquisition and Development funds, Community Park District #6.00. City Council accept the proposal from the Comstock Company to provide a preliminary appraisal report for the sum of $1,000. 2. City Council appropriate $1,000 from the unappropriated balance of the Park Land Acquisition fund and authorize the expenditure from account 420-4200-5201.
