F'ORMEETING OF:12/21 76
ITEM TITLE Resolution 8449: Approving Local Agency-State Agreement with the
State of California for Railroad Protection Advance Warning Signs
I
SUBMITTED BY Director of Public Works/City Engineer ~I
ITEM EXPLANATION
Section 203 of the Federal Highway Safety Act of 1976 provides for an
improvement program to bring signing and pavement marking at Rail-Highway
crossings on the Federal-Aid System in compliance with the Manual of
Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and California Vehicle Code.
This agreement provides that the City will install the signing with City
forces at 10 locations in Chula Vista for a total cost of $980. The City
will fund $98. However, since we are using our own labor, within the
existing budget, no new funds need be appropriated for this project.

Attention William J. Robens
Dear Jennie Fulasz:
This letter is in response to your application for Federal Funding
providing for railroad advance warning signs. FHWA just recently
gave approval to your project. This letter is authorization to
proceed with work as outlined on the "sign listing form" enclosed
with the executed Local Agency - State Agreement which we are re-
turning to you. However, it should be understood that no agency
will be reimbursed for work done under this program until "all
agencies" have completed all their work and all agencies have filed
a Final Project Report. This work must be completed by 10/31/77.
The Final Project Report may be a latter stating that all work is
complete and final as indicated on the sign listing form. The Final
Report must be sent to us before 11/30/77.
If you have any questions, please call Bob LeNeve at 294-5296.
Sincerely,
Jacob Dekema
