The unincorporated territory in question has been purchased by the County of San Diego and will be included within the Sweetwater Regional Park. It is appropriate, therefore, to amend the General Plan Diagram to reflect the "Parks and Public Open Space" use of this property. 2. BOARD/ COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: On October 18, 1976 the Planning Commission voted 4-1 (one absent) to recommend that Council find that the General Plan amendment will not have any significant impact on the environment and certified the Negative Declaration on IS-76-67; and that Council amend the General Plan in accordance with Planning Commission Resolution GPA-76-4. GPA-76-4 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL A REVISION OF TfiE GENERAL PLAN FOR APPROXIMATELY 33 ACRES LOCATED IN THE NORTHEAST QUADRANT OF BONITA ROAD AND I-805, FROM VISITOR COMMERCIAL TO PARKS 'AND PUBLIC OPEN SPACE WHEREAS, the Chula Vista General Plan designated the area in the northeast quadrant of Bonita Road and I-805 as Visitor Commercial, and WHEREAS, approximately 33 acres of the unincorporated territory in question has been purchased by the County of Sandiego for inclusion within the Sweetwater Regional Park, and WHEREAS, the Planning Conmission set the time and place for a hearing to consider amending the General Plan to be in conformance with the public park use in the area, and notice of said hearing, together with its purpose, was given by the publication in a newspaper of general circulation in the City at least ten days prior to the date of said hearing, and WHEREAS, a hearing was held at said time and place, namely 7:00 p.m., October 18, 1976, in the Council Chamber, City Hall, before the Planning Commission, and said hearing was thereafter closed, and WHEREAS, the Commission found that in accordance with the draft Negative Declaration on IS-76-67 and the findings stated therein, the proposed General Pian amendment will not have any significant impact on the environment and certified that the Negative Declaration was prepared in accordance with the California Environ- mental Quality Act of 1970, as amended. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: 1. From facts presented to the Commission, the Commission finds that public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good planning practice require an amend- ment to the General Plan for approximately 33 acres located in the northeast quadrant of Bonita Road and I-805, as shown on Exhibit A, from Visitor Commercial to Parks and Public Open Space. 2. The findings of fact in support of said determination are as follows: a. The unincorporated territory in question has been purchased by the County of Sa ndiego for inclusion within the Sweetwater Regional Park. b. One parcel not included in the County purchase, and separated from the proposed park by Bonita Mesa Road, shall retain the Visitor Commercial designation. 3. The Planning Conmission recommends to the City Council that said amendment to the General Plan be adopted. ' 4. That this resolution be transmitted. to the City Council. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA, this 18th day of October, 1976, by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Lomnissioners G.
