RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF
GENERAL SERVICES OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO
PURCHASE ONE CARGO VAN AND SEVEN PICK UP
TRUCKS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, Council Resolution No. 6132 authorizes the City
to participate in a cooperative bid with the State of California
for purchases, and
WHEREAS, said procedure requires the adoption of a
resolution designating the State as the City's agent in making
the purchase, and
WHEREAS, the Equipment Replacement Fund provides for the
replacement of one station wagon and six pick up trucks with the
station wagon being replaced by a mini cargo van, and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney Of the City of Chula Vista
has executed a certificate, attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference as if set forth in full, in accordance with
Section 1895.2 of the California Administrative Code, advising
that the requested purchase by the State Department of General
Services does not conflict with the provisions of the City
Charter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Chula Vista does hereby authorize the Office of
Procurement, Department of General Services of the State of
California to purchase one cargo van and seven pick up trucks at
a total purchase price of $76,240.77 including sales tax and
service charge, on behalf of the City Of Chula Vista pursuant to
Section 14814 of the Government Code and that James V. Espinosa,
Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to sign and
deliver all necessary requests and other documents in connection
therewith for and on behalf of the City of Chula Vista.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $67,235.96 be,
and the same is hereby authorized to be expended from the
Equipment Replacement Fund and $9,004.81 is hereby authorized to
be expended from the Marina Maintenance budget.
